I graduated in June 2005 from the ISD / Rubika in France and went straight to designing cameras in New York, my first job. And... Oops, happened to be a lot more difficult that I anticipated. At school I was a good student but I quickly realised that I had a lot to catch up on, starting with my sketches, concept generation, 2D & 3D skills, selling my ideas or just my general design knowledge.
The projects were going too fast and I never had time to design. I felt uncreative, could not design nice products and my lack of knowledge made me design ideas that could not be manufactured… Oops again!
Then I was lucky to move to my second job in Taiwan where I met my first Senior Designer who taught me how to overcome all the difficulties of a Junior Designer: FREEDOM! I was finally able to perform well, boosted my skills, learned how to save time, sell my ideas, became more creative and finally had a clear design process to repeat success.
Later and as I grew to be a senior designer myself, I was asked to lead interns and younger designers to help them grow and be better faster. That’s where I learned how to explain and break down complicated processes into simple methods which are easy to understand and reproduce..
Today, I have 12 years of experience working for fast paced and highly demanding studios in Europe, USA and Asia. I've helped many younger guys at work. It is now
time for me to use leManoosh and help those who are still struggling with their jobs and really need a help to be able to work and live happily from their passion.
